Dag 3: Borkel en Schaft - Diest (Belgium; 60 kms)

1 juni 2018 - Diest, België

Early rains delayed departure from the Swallow's Nest. But than things got faster. The first 20 km followed an old train track that we completed in about an hour. Than things changed again and we got what we were able to avoid yesterday: rain, lots of rain. Luckily we were going through a woody area, the trees capturing most of the water. Still not a day to make kilometers. So we decided to book a Bed & Breakfastin Diest, an old town where one of the sons of William the Silent, the founder of the House of Orange-Nassau and The Netherlands as a state. The centre of town was worth the visit and not only because it had stopped raining.
